Professor Chris Suh published, “Diasporic Politics in the Age of Decolonization: Korean Independence and the US Military Occupation of Korea, 1945–1948,” Diplomatic History, the official journal of Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR).
As part of his ongoing project on Asian Americans’ engagement with the decolonization of Asia from the end of World War II to the Bandung Conference, the article follows a group of Korean Americans associated with the LA-based bilingual newspaper, Korean Independence, as they attempted to make sense of the changing US policy toward the decolonization of Korea.
